The mild temperatures of the fall season are setting in and now is the perfect time to take advantage during a weekend at Lake Conroe. Located right outside of Houston, this lake has activities for everyone in your family. We have listed out some of the top activities to do on your next weekend at Lake Conroe.
There are many different RV campgrounds around Lake Conroe, both big and small. Many of the campgrounds have different amenities to take advantage of while you are there. From beach areas and pools, to fishing lakes and hot tubs, they have you covered! If you get tired of the water, there are tennis courts, volleyball courts and playgrounds for the kids. Be sure to research the different areas and pick out what is best for your trip.
If you are wanting to hit the water but don’t have a boat, not to worry! Boat rentals are available to get you out on the waves. There are a variety of boats, wave runners, jet skis or pontoons to choose from depending on what kind of adventure you are looking for. Fishing is also a favorite among the lake-goers, so be sure to pack your tackle box!
With the temperatures getting a little cooler, it is the perfect time to hit the trails, whether you are on foot or on a bike. There are quite a few trail options available for you, anywhere from a short stroll to 20 or 30 miles. There are even options for backpacking trails and horse trails!
We can’t forget about those golfers out there! Lake Conroe features a few different golf courses to choose from. La Torretta Golf Course, part of La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa, sits right on lake and is open to the public. Another popular golf course in the area is Grand Pines - one of three private courses at Bentwater. It sits between San Houston National Forest and the shoreline of Lake Conroe, which means that it will always be surrounded by unobstructed, natural views.
After all of the boating, fishing, playing and golfing, you need to have a great place to get some food and relax. Good thing there are a variety of restaurants on Lake Conroe to choose from! If you are looking for somewhere with a great lake-vibe, Papa’s on the Lake is for you. It offers a great menu and even better entertainment (and you can’t forget about the lake views). Wolfies is another great lakeside option for any sports bar enthusiasts out there!
Whether you hit the lake or go to the local park, we hope you get out and enjoy the weather!
